Julian Lifestyle Newborn Session | Boston Newborn Photographer

Remember this handsome guy’s Fresh 48 session? Well I might be even more in love with how his Lifestyle Newborn session turned out. Are you an expecting mama in the Boston area and curious about in home lifestyle sessions. If so, here are some of the questions I get asked most often…

What is a lifestyle newborn session?

Lifestyle newborn sessions focus on the love and connection between you and your newest family member. They are filled with emotion and have a more natural feel because you’re focused on your new bundle of joy and not worried about smiling for me. I also make sure to get some individual and detail shots of baby which I love to do these in their crib and nursery. There’s something so sweet about documenting the space you’ve spent so much time creating for them!

When do they take place?

Sessions usually take place between 1-3 weeks while your little one is still tiny and sleepy. However, some families like to wait a little longer. They’re your images, so it’s completely up to you!

Why are newborn sessions so much longer than other sessions?

As with most of my sessions, the kids are in charge and we know newborns don’t always stick to our schedule. That means we stop often so baby can feed, get changed or rocked back to sleep. You will be exhausted, so taking our time to get gorgeous images helps everyone relax.

Does my house need to be spotless?

Absolutely not! You’ve just brought a new person home so taking care of them and you is your first priority. The rooms we’ll likely use are the master bedroom, nursery and living room. If you can make sure that clutter is removed from surfaces in those rooms like night stands, dressers and coffee tables. I’m also happy to help move some things when I arrive, with your permission of course.

When should I book my session?

I recommend booking your newborn session towards the middle to end of your second trimester. This way I can make sure I have enough availability around your due date.
